Meet Supervisor Craig Latimer

Craig Latimer

Craig Latimer assumed office as the Supervisor of Elections for Hillsborough County on January 8, 2013.

Prior to becoming the Supervisor of Elections, Craig served as the Chief of Staff to the Supervisor of Elections, a position he held from January 2009 to January 2013. Appointed by Phyllis Busansky, Latimer continued to serve with Dr. Earl Lennard.

Craig Latimer led the turnaround in the elections office to restore integrity, efficiency and confidence in the election process. He brought to the office leadership and accountability; timely and accurate reporting of results; impartiality and nonpartisanship; a renewed commitment to ethics and professionalism; excellent voter services; and responsible and conservative stewardship of taxpayers’ funds.

Craig was born and raised in Hillsborough County.  He graduated from Tampa Catholic High School and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida. Craig served and protected the community for 35 years in law enforcement, retiring as a Major from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in 2008. Craig volunteers in the community in many ways. He is on the Board of the Central Florida Behavioral Health Network, Bay Area Youth Services, and the Tampa Catholic High School Board of Trustees, and he is an Honorary Commander for the 6th Medical Group at MacDill Air Force Base.
